New planer, New shape

New planer arrived the other day and was quickly put to use. Decided on a slightly different template to the one posted before.....definate 70's influence

Goodbye my inanimate friend...

Since I started shaping there has been one tool that has been with me from the start.

Cheap, unmaintained and permanently borrowed from my old man, this planer has served me well....its no skil or hitachi but it has served its time, getting me from utter disaster to something that is passable as a surfboard!

Shame it had to blow up on the second pass, when I was really in the mood to get shaping.....now wheres the screwfix catalogue?

Pointy!

I'm not really one for riding pointy boards but theres a first for everything.

Stringer all glued in

Rolled to V bottom, single fin with really bladey rails. Reserved for days when the North Sea flexes its muscle.

Korduroy Kickstarter...

These guys are possibly responsible for what can probably be termed the 'Handplane revolution', they make loads of great informative and inspirational videos on all aspects of surfing...well worth a donation if you have some to spare.

Bodysurf POV

Took my uncle for his first bodysurf today, conditions were not great, its was freezing! But at least the strong offshores were holding the faces up

Not the longest of rides I had today but it produced the best video

Diver Doodle...

My new board just got a little better thanks to the fine talents of Martin Scott, who is far too talented sometimes!

Hand drawn over 4 hours with a fine posca pen!

Finspiration...

Re-foiled some RFC lokbox keels into some Tomo style hockey stick fins. To be glassed on the board in the previous post.
